Boys Offseason Basketball - Summer 2025

Flames Homeschool Sports-Boys Offseason Basketball

Cost: $60

Flames Boys Basketball will run off-season workouts throughout the summer for new and returning players ages 11-18 years old. We are eager to get the boys on the court to sharpen their skills, stay active, and start bonding as a team by playing ball together! 

The Head Coach for MSB will be James Garrett, and the Head Coach for HSB will be Curtis Kasinski.

*We plan to take most of the month of August off and will announce details for September at a later date.

June: 6/9, 6/16, 6/23, 6/30

Practices will be held at  Christendom College Gym. (134 Christendom Dr, Front Royal)

MSB 6:00-7:30 pm

HSB 7:30-9:00 pm 

July: 7/11, 7/18, 7/25 

*There will be no practice on July 4th.

Girls' Off-Season Basketball - Summer 2025

Join us this summer for off-season basketball with Flames! This program is open to homeschool girls ages 11–18 who want to stay active, build skills, and enjoy time on the court in a fun and encouraging environment. Whether you're a returning player or new to the sport, this is a great opportunity to grow in confidence, teamwork, and athletic ability.

Practices begin on Monday, June 2. 

MS Girls: 6:30pm - 7:45pm
JV/V (HS) Girls: 7:15 - 9:00pm 

Starting on September 4, practices will begin at 6:00pm.

Registration is only $35 per girl to cover facility and insurance fees. 

Basketball - Girls Development League - Spring II 2025

Flames Girls Development League goal is to develop players for entry into the Middle School program with a focus on core fundamentals of basketball. That gives an 8 year old player three years of preparation for competitive middle school basketball! The Development League will have their own practice facility and time slot.

Home Schooled Girls, Age 8-10 year old, registration is $35.00 per child with a $5.00 discount/sibling

 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. - Age 8 – 10
 8:00 – 9:00 p.m. (reserved for assessment of new players age 11-18 from competition teams)

New Hope Bible Church (80 N Lake Ave, Front Royal, VA 22630)

We are finding the elite programs have development leagues for brand new players before they are allowed to sign up for competitive teams. That way they still take all players, but ensure athletes have core competencies before entering competitive basketball. There are two goals for a development league.

Goal 1 is to educate the inexperienced player in the game of basketball and prepare them for competitive play/

Goal 2 is to have a sustainable Girls Basketball program. As an organization, Flames have rushed to get players to sign up for basketball registration, find facilities for practices, games and tournaments. The Development League can facilitate the underage player coming in to the league, as well as the brand new “of age” player; while the Competition League can facilitate the competitive player. Everyone is in the appropriate lane.

Registrations will be held on a first come - first serve basis, with a maximum of 20 players. Registration will cover practice facility time, as well as a Flames logo drawstring bag, and a program specific tee shirt.

Registrants over the age of 11 that may be in need of assessment will have the third hour for that evaluation period. Once the Development Coach feels they have met those competencies for competitive play, the Competition Coach for that player will be notified. The Competition Coach will invite the player to the next practice for assessment and makes the final decision whether the player moves to the Competition team, or stays in the Development League.
