Flames Chess Club


Flames Chess Club is an opportunity for area homeschoolers to gather and play chess. The focus of our club is for players to have an opportunity to play friendly games against each other. There are typically players of all skill levels. In addition, we provide the players with self study worksheets and puzzles and our coach is available for basic instruction and coaching during play.

Volunteer Needs: Due to the continued growth of the Flames Chess Club, parents with even elementary chess knowledge would be welcome and encouraged to join our volunteer team to help provide assistance on etiquette and gameplay.

Who: Homeschool girls and boys, ages 8-18

Dates:  JAN 13 - MAR 3; Tuesdays from 6:30-8:00pm

Location: New Hope Bible Church, 80 N Lake Ave, Front Royal, Va (Rm 109)

Registration Fee:  $35

Registration End Date:  December 29, 2025

Art Club 2026 - Spring 2026

The Flames Spring Art Clubs are programs where artists can get together to learn, explore, and create art together. We will be learning about different artists and artistic styles throughout the season. All supplies will be provided. At our first class, parents must attend to agree and sign off on the guidelines for the clubs. 

Our spring Youth Art Club will meet from 2:30-4 p.m. every other Tuesday, and the High School Art Club will meet on the same days from 2-4 p.m. Both will meet on the following dates:

Jan 27, Feb 10 & 24; March 10 & 24; April 7 & 21; and May 5 &19

Location: New Hope Bible: Church 80 N. Lake Ave, Front Royal, VA. 

Ages for participation are 9-13 years old for the Youth Art Club and 14-18 years old for the High School Art Club. All ages are as of September 1, 2025.

*Each group will have an enrollment cap of 20 registrants.

Guidelines for the Classes:

- Be respectful of everyone's work. - Honor God with your art by adhering to principals of modesty, humility and with the general inclination that themes that are demonic in nature are not acceptable in this environment. - We are here to explore artistic representation, learn from each other, and always to Glorify God. - Some themes we will explore include examining artwork by a certain artist with their style. Kids are encouraged to create an art piece in that style. Each group will do this in a way that is age appropriate. - At the first meeting, parents must attend to agree and sign off on guidelines for the club.

Boys Spring Baseball - 2026 - Spring 2026

Registration: Nov. 10th- Jan. 5th

Cost: $350 for new players and $300 for players returning from Fall 2025. Payment plans are offered and are set up to have you pay half the registration cost when registering, and then the remaining half would be drafted a month later. 

Equipment: Players will need cleats, a glove, a helmet, and protective cup.

Uniforms: Players will receive a hat, jersey, belt, & socks. Players need to purchase their own white pants with black piping ex. these (returning players may use pants from last year's spring season)

Ages: Ages 12-18 (Grades 7th–12th)

Levels: Rosters will be determined over the first several weeks for the Varsity and JV teams (there may be some overlap between those rosters). Newer players may be assigned to the 'practice only' until coaches deem them ready for competition.  Practice only players are welcome, but not required, to attend games.

Competitive Level: High

Season: Jan 6-May 31

Schedule & Locations: For 8 weeks beginning Jan 6, we will practice every Tues 3:30–5:30 pm at Locked In (19959 Fort Valley Rd., Strasburg, VA). In Feb, we will add a second, outdoor weekly practice, weather permitting, in Middletown.

March-May, 3-4 events per week. Practices Tues 3:30-5:30 pm in Middletown and Fri 5-7pm or Sat 9-11am at Sherando Park in Stephens City. (Saturday practices may be at Middletown depending on availability of Sherando Field.) Home games will be at Champions 53 Field in Front Royal or Sherando Park. Road games include: Northern Virginia, Harrisonburg, Richmond, Maryland, & other towns in Warren, Frederick, and Shenandoah Counties. The more distant road games will be on Saturdays.
