Flames Homeschool PE 2025 - Winter 2025

Flames Homeschool PE

This non-competitive winter program will last for six weeks and meets indoors. It is open to homeschooled boys and girls ages 7-18 as of Sept. 1st, 2024. The sessions will focus on agility, endurance, speed, power/strength, coordination, and balance. We will do activities and games around these physical education components.
Those who register for this program will receive a welcome email in mid-December, which will give you all the details needed for the program.

 

Volunteer Needs: We need more a Practice Helpers for both programs. For more information about volunteer duties, please contact Louisa Matveeva at lveevarunning@gmail.com

Registration is open from Monday, November 18th through Saturday, December 28th (MS/HS).

Presentational Boys Spring Baseball visual

Boys Spring Baseball - Spring 2025

Registration: December 13 – January 5

Cost:
Varsity and Junior Varsity $250 (8th–12th grade)
Middle School $175 (6th–8th grade)
Practice only $150 (for players new to baseball who will participate in all practices but not games)

Equipment: Players will need cleats, a glove, a helmet, and protective cup. They may also wish to purchase a bat, but there will be a limited number of team bats available.

Ages: Grades 6–12

Competitive Level: High

Season: January 28 – May 31

Schedule: For five weeks beginning January 28, we will practice every Tuesday 3:00–5:00 p.m. at Arena Sports (19959 Fort Valley Rd., Strasburg, VA). From the first of March through May, we will move outdoors and follow a schedule of three to four events (games or practices) per week. Weekday practices will be either 3:00–5:00 p.m. in Middletown or 9:00–11:00 a.m. in Front Royal. Weekday games will typically start between 4:00 and 6:00 p.m. Home games will be in Front Royal, Middletown, or Frederick County. Current destinations for away games include Manassas, Dayton, and New Market. We have a few Saturday doubleheaders scheduled, which will require travel to Richmond and Fredericksburg. We have currently scheduled no Sunday events. The state tournament in May (precise dates TBD) is the only event that may require Sunday play.

Location: Practices will be in Strasburg, Front Royal, and Middletown. Home games will be in Front Royal, Middletown, or Frederick County. Away games will be throughout the northern Shenandoah Valley and Northern and Central Virginia (possibly also Maryland and West Virginia).

Flames Spring High School Art Club - Spring 2025

Flames Spring High School Art Club is a group where artists can get together to learn, explore and create art. We will be learning about. different artists and artistic styles throughout the season culminating with an end of the season art exhibit.  Additionally we may be creating props and helping with sets for the Flames Theater program.All supplies will be provided. 

Flames Spring Youth Art Club will meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month beginning January 14 and ending May 13 from 3:30-5 at Samuels Public Library. 

Ages for participation are 14-18  as of September 1 2024. The enrollment cap is 20 registrants.

Be respectful of everyone's work. 
Honor God with your art work by adhering to principals of modesty, humility and with the general inclination that themes that are demonic in nature are not acceptable in this environment.  
We are here to explore artistic representation, learn from each other and always to Glorify God. 
Some themes we will explore include examining artwork by a certain artist with their style. Kids are encouraged to create an art piece in that style. Each group will do this in a way that is age appropriate. First meeting parents must attend to agree and sign off on guidelines for the club

Presentational Flames Theater Spring Production Auditions visual

Flames Theater Spring Production Auditions - Spring 2025

Flames Theater Spring Production Auditions for HS/MS (ages 13-18 as of September 1, 2024) will be held at Samuel's Public Library January 23 with a secondary date of January 30 in case we can't fit everyone in on the 23 AND for call-backs.

This season Flames Theater will be performing two smaller shows The Drowsy Chaperone Jr and an Original Murder Mystery. 
This season we are doing things a little differently. You will register for auditions and pay $25 . Once we cast the plays you have an option to accept your role and register for the production for the remaining  $40 or you can step away and not take your role. You will not be refunded the $25.
Practice times for the production(s) will be Mondays 5:30-7; Wednesday 5:30-7; and Thursday 5-8 beginning March 10 with production dates May 9 and 10. 

Audition dates are listed here as Jan 23-30, but the actual dates are only Jan 23 & Jan 30. 

Once registration closes we will email out audition packets.
