2025 Winter Competition Archery - Winter 2025

COMPETITION ARCHERY - WINTER 2025

Registration is open November 14 - December 21 .

WHO: All homeschoolers in 4th - 12th grade for the 2024-2025 school year

WHEN: Saturdays from January 4 - April 26, 2024, between 9:00am - 1:00pm (1 hour heats)

WHERE: Two Rivers Archery Club, Front Royal 

COST: $55

SPECIAL NOTES:

Eligibility: Experience is required. Competition archery is for archers who have previously participated in: at least one season of learn archery, or a previous season of competition archery with Flames, or another NASP program. 
 
Equipment: Flames provides bows and arrows for our archers. Under NASP guidelines, all archers must use Genesis bows. Archers who have a Genesis bow are welcome to bring it to practice and tournaments; other bows are not allowed.

Tournaments: Tournament fees are not included in the registration cost. They're typically $10-$35 per archer, paid at the door on the day of the event. We will provide information about available tournaments as we receive it.

Jerseys: Highly encouraged! If the team places a jersey order prior to 01/09/2025, then the price will be $51.50/jersey. The cost of the jersey will go up to $80/each for any order placed after 01/09/2025.

Chess Club 2025 - Winter 2025

Flames Chess Club


Flames Chess Club is an opportunity for area homeschoolers to gather and play chess. The focus of our club is for players to have an opportunity to play friendly games against each other. There are typically players of all skill levels. In addition, we provide the players with self study worksheets and puzzles and our coach is available for basic instruction and coaching during play.


ChessKid.com will continue to be our primary format for working with young players.



Volunteer Needs: Due to the continued growth of the Flames Chess Club, parents with even elementary chess knowledge would be welcome and encouraged to join our volunteer team to help provide assistance on etiquette and gameplay.

Registration will close once we reach max enrollments (32). So do not delay in signing up.

Flames Homeschool PE 2025 - Winter 2025

Flames Homeschool PE

This non-competitive winter program will last for six weeks and meets indoors. It is open to homeschooled boys and girls ages 7-18 as of Sept. 1st, 2024. The sessions will focus on agility, endurance, speed, power/strength, coordination, and balance. We will do activities and games around these physical education components.
Those who register for this program will receive a welcome email in mid-December, which will give you all the details needed for the program.

 

Volunteer Needs: We need more a Practice Helpers for both programs. For more information about volunteer duties, please contact Louisa Matveeva at lveevarunning@gmail.com

Registration is open from Monday, November 18th through Saturday, December 14th.

ES Sessions: 2:30 - 3:30pm on Fridays 

Middle and High School, ages 11-18 as of Sept. 1st, 2024
MS/HS (combined) Sessions: 2:30 - 3:30pm on Wednesdays
